Dr. Rose is an avid advocate for healthcare research and innovation. Serving on the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CITTI) Steering Committee, he is actively participating in driving change in rare disease and fibrotic interstitial lung disease research. He is member emeritus of the Board of Directors and former CEO of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). Prior to his work at the PFF he was a practicing cardiothoracic surgeon for 30 years in NYC and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. Obtaining his MD at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and completing residency in general surgery and fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at NYU School of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Rose brings medical, research and a personal perspective to fibrotic and rare lung disease projects, his father, uncle and aunt were diagnosed with IPF and following the death of his aunt his father and uncle founded the PFF in 1999.
